The typical symptoms associated with ear infections are scratching at ears, shaking of the head, rubbing of the head on ground or furniture, or even holding one ear lower then normal. In some cases there is a strong odor noticed by owners. In almost all cases the pet is in extreme pain and does not want the ear touched.
